The Castro Theatre is in an internationally renowned LGBTQ+ neighborhood. By attending an event at the Castro Theatre, you agree to behave with respect for the LGBTQ+ residents, visitors and culture you will encounter when you visit the area. Ticket holders who violate this agreement may be excluded from acquiring tickets to future events at the Castro Theatre.

Parking
Parking is limited in the area, we encourage carpooling and use of public transportation. Though we do not own or operate any garages, metered street and lot parking is available through SFMTA and other private providers. Please actively monitor time restrictions to stay current on payment. A full list of SFMTA operated locations can be found here.

Ticketing

Purchasing

The Castro Theatre is open to outside producers for rental. As such, please check the event listing for the producers box office information. Be wary of any third-party websites not listed on your Castro Theatre event page as we unfortuanetly have no mechanism for verifying tickets purchased outside of the event producers official ticketing partner.

In Person Box Office

We do not offer regular on-site box office hours. Please visit event listings for day of event in person purchasing and will call hours.

Refunds & Exchanges

All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges unless a show has been postponed or cancelled. If you have purchased tickets to a postponed event, your tickets will be honored at the rescheduled date. Ticket buyers who are unable to attend a rescheduled show date may request a refund up to 30 days after the rescheduled show announcement. This will allow others who can attend the new date to purchase your tickets. For cancelled shows, tickets will be automatically refunded to your original method of payment. Note, the Castro Theatre allows for outside producers to rent the theatre, events not produced by the Castro Theatre will have different refund and exchange policies. Please reference the individual event page for confirmation on this policy.

Age Restriction
Due to capacity restrictions, everyone attending must have a ticket regardless of age. Children under four years of age are discouraged from attending except for events specifically geared towards children.

Pre-Sales

The Castro Theatre offers online-only presales for most of our events. We recommend that you subscribe to our mailing list on our homepage to receive presale passwords and show announcements directly via email, though you can also find presale passwords and on sale times on our website by clicking on the event on our homepage, when available.

ADA Seating

Castro Theatre Produced Events: Accessible seating is available for all shows at the Castro Theatre. The seating area is located on the orchestra level of the Theatre. ADA tickets can be purchased directly through our official online ticketing page for each event. ADA tickets are limited and fist come, first served. If you have tickets for a show but were unable to get an accessible seat, please reach out to contact@anotherplanetent.com to request accommodations.

Food & Beverage

Food & Beverage
The Castro Theatre offers a variety of snacks for purchase at our concession stands. A small personal food item is acceptable to bring into the theatre as well. The Castro Theatre has water for sale at concession stands along with a water fountain. We encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle. We offer variety of soft drinks for purchase. Alcohol, beer and wine are available to purchase for those that present a valid government issued ID stating you are over the age of 21 with a clearly legible photo, name and birthdate.

Coat Check
The Castro Theatre unfortunately does not have a coat check. Sorry!
Restrooms
The Castro Theatre offers gender neutral, mens and womens restrooms in addition to an ADA accesible location.
Doors
The doors typically open one hour prior to show time, although this may vary from show to show. Please refer to the event page listing you are attending.
Age Restrictions
Unless otherwised stated, Castro Theatre events are all ages. If there is an age restriction, you must present a valid government issued ID stating you are over the events required age with a clearly legible photo, name and birthdate. Please refer to the event page listing you are interested in for confirmation.
Re-entry
Unless otherwised stated, no re-entry is permitted once you have entered the Theatre (ins & outs).
